Makeup for Beginner
Choosing a
natural-looking lip colors
Choosing the
right lip color is essential to complete a natural makeup look. Opt for colors
that enhance your natural lip color and complement your skin tone. Some popular
choices for a natural look include nude shades, soft pinks, and peachy tones.
If you have a warm skin tone, opt for lip colors with warm undertones like
coral or peach. If you have a cool skin tone, go for shades with blue
undertones like rosy pinks or berry shades.
Another factor to consider when choosing a natural-looking lip color is the formula. Matte and satin finishes tend to look more natural than high-shine glosses. Lip stains and tinted balms can also be great options for a subtle, natural-looking lip.
It's important to
prep your lips before applying any lip color. Exfoliate your lips with a lip
scrub or a gentle toothbrush to remove any dry or flaky skin. Then, apply a
hydrating lip balm to moisturize your lips and create a smooth base for your
lip color. Finally, apply your chosen lip color, starting from the center of
your lips and blending outwards for a seamless, natural finish.
Lip application
techniques
Once you have
selected the right lip color, the next step is to apply it properly to achieve
a natural look. To begin, use a lip liner to define and shape your lips. Choose
a liner that matches your natural lip color or the lipstick shade you will be
wearing. Start by lining the Cupid's bow, then move on to the corners and the
center of the bottom lip. Connect the lines, making sure to follow the natural
contours of your lips.
Next, apply your
lipstick. You can use a lip brush or apply directly from the tube. Start in the
center of your lips and work your way outwards, making sure to fill in any
gaps. Blot your lips with a tissue to remove any excess product.
For a
natural-looking finish, avoid using gloss or shimmery lip products. Instead,
opt for a matte or satin finish. You can also try dabbing a small amount of lip
balm over your lipstick to add moisture and shine without altering the color.
Remember to check
your teeth for any lipstick marks by placing your index finger in your mouth,
closing your lips around it, and pulling it out slowly. This will remove any
excess lipstick from the inner part of your lips that might otherwise transfer
to your teeth.
